damn hot oil burns like a motherfucker

so i was cooking fried eggplant with beef sauce. beef sauce made from mince beef, garlic, ginger, black bean garlic sauce, oyster sauce, tian mian sauce, sugar, salt, black pepper, white pepper and some carrots. actually it turned out really well. then i was pan frying the eggplant and at one point i was laying down the eggplant slices and the first knuckle of my right middle finger touched the oil in the pan. you know when sometimes you get hit and it takes a second for the pain to kick in? god that one second feels like five seconds. so i touch it and i think to myself: hmm did i touch the oil there or not i don’t feel any OH FUCKKKKK and yes folks, oil burns suck real real hard. 

I’ve been scalded by water, burned by a smoldering iron but this was something else. the oil was really bad. so i go to the tap and run it under cold water for a while thinking it’s over. NUH-UH. i quickly realized this was not enough since within 5 seconds of leaving the cold water my finger felt like it was being burnt again. then i had to get a pack of frozen vegetables to freeze the burn. after a bit it got really bad that I couldn’t take my finger away from the freeze pack. it would burn like all hell and then putting it on the freeze pack felt like “normal”, not cold at all, hahaha. that definitely taught me a lesson and i’ll be much more careful in the kitchen from now on. 

this is also my third day of cutting -____- for those that don’t know cutting is a phase when someone who does strength training or whatever goes through a phase of calorie deficit burn fat. this means CARDIO ERRYDAY in the morning because your glycogen levels are lowest and will burn the most fat. but UGH it’s such a pain to climb your ass up and go run or do anything. T_T
