explaining starcraft
aaaaand yet again, i’ve been asked about starcraft and you know what, my response has changed.
before when people asked what sc is and why i play it, i explained to them the genre RTS, then that sc is the best RTS ever, then that the game is about economics, teching, expansions, judgement, attacking, defending, harass, scout, game of imperfect information just like poker etc etc all that shit but then people got bored very quick before I even finished
then I thought well that explanation didn’t work at all so i started going with “it’s like watching a real war going on and you can actually see real life war strategies being implemented, and instead of humans vs humans, you have aliens, some predator lookalike race and humans, and each matchup is special.”
now i don’t give a shit anymore and i say “yea dude i have no idea why i’m still playing/watching this shitty game lol” then give them the biggest, widest shit eating grin ever. this will give them the obvious impression that I’m bullshitting them and will leave them wondering, instead of me explaining to them and looking like im some desperate fuck.
